VISIONS Foundation provides young leaders and community organizations with the financial means to succeed and have a greater impact on the world.

By offering an array of scholarships, grants, and other fiscal aid to both individuals and organizations, VISIONS Foundation expands upon the impressive work already performed by its partner organization,
VISIONS Service Adventures, which runs community service programs for high school students in Peru, the Dominican Republic, Montana Blackfeet Reservation and British Virgin Islands.

VISIONS FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON TWO IMPORTANT INITIATIVES

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

VISIONS Service Adventures (VSA) has worked with most of its host communities for three decades or longer, completing more than 1,300 construction projects along the way, as well as environmental initiatives and social service. With more than three decades of service, we’ve worked firsthand with countless nonprofits, and have discovered those whose work is truly impactful in the long-run. These entities have earned our confidence because we have witnessed the impactful work they have accomplished, firsthand. Many operate on a shoestring, others solely through sheer determination and the personal efforts of passionate individuals.

The Foundation’s support helps tip the scales for these organizations so that they can continue to strategically affect concrete positive change in their communities. Furthermore, the longstanding relationships fostered through VSA’s service programs bolster the effectiveness and efficiency of VISIONS Foundation.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The participation of teens from diverse socioeconomic circumstances unquestionably enriches the experience for everyone, while also giving these students an equal opportunity to contribute to communities around the world. Many of our scholarship students come through partner organizations, including Summer Search, Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars Program, REACH Prep and A Better Chance.

Scholarships awarded through the Foundation are in addition to the financial aid VSA already provides, allowing greater numbers of young leaders to tap into their potential. Proposals for financial aid are not limited to VSA programs. They may include opportunities for a young person to start a nonprofit to aid community-building efforts, for example, or to attend a third-party program that encourages personal growth by contributing to a local or global community.

MATCHING FUNDS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE’S INITIATIVES

VSA’s programs create positive ripple effects that can compound over a lifetime. Many VSA alumni have returned from their service experiences energized and more equipped to put their passion and skills to work in the world. From fundraising efforts to local volunteering, creating new nonprofits, or sponsoring a scholarship recipient, VSA alumni are known for their positive contributions in the world.

Being part of the inspiration for this commitment to humanitarian, environmental and other causes is one of the greatest things we could hope for. As such, VISIONS Foundation aims to continue supporting young people after their program experiences have ended by giving modest matching grants, publishing information about initiatives, and providing other resources.

HOMETOWN INVOLVEMENT

We believe that effective members of any community must participate in community life wherever they live. VISIONS is based in Bozeman, Montana, where we work to create a greater connection to each
other and to the land. The Foundation aims to work with local teens, adults and area nonprofits through cultural and educational activities, gatherings, service work initiatives and workshops.
