Daniel Shamah is a junior enrolled in the IB program at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is also a future VISIONS volunteer registered in July’s Spanish immersion trip to Cotui, Dominican Republic.
While playing high school baseball and preparing for Spanish exams, Daniel realized that, “Ni todos los niños son tan afortunados de tener equipo de béisbol,” which means that not all children are fortunate enough to have proper baseball equipment.
Consequently, Daniel decided to organize a VISIONS Baseball Project to gather and deliver equipment to Dominican youth. If you would like to donate new or slightly used baseball equipment to the VISIONS Baseball Project, please email [email protected].
Alternatively, you are also welcome to simply make a financial contribution to Daniel’s cause so that he can purchase additional equipment for donations. You can donate here and please make a note that you’d like this to be earmarked for Daniel’s project.
All acquired equipment and proceeds will be distributed directly to Dominican youth baseball leagues in Cotui, where the VISIONS program takes place.
Also, school supplies and bilingual workbooks for primary-aged kids will be collected!
